Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of the Samio mobile application (the "App"). By creating an account you agree to these Terms. If you disagree, please don't use the App.
1. The service
Samio is a tool that helps parents log feeding, sleep, growth and related information about their baby, and optionally share that log with a co-parent. The App is provided "as is" and may change over time.
2. Your account
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
- You must be of legal age to enter into contracts in your jurisdiction, and you must be the parent or legal guardian of the child whose data you log in the App. The App is intended for parents and caregivers — not for children themselves.
- You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any illegal purpose.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App.
- Interfere with our servers, rate limits, or security mechanisms.
- Upload content that infringes on someone else's rights.
- Invite co-parents to a household without their consent.
4. Shared households
When you invite a co-parent, you grant them access to all baby data in the household — they can view, add, edit, and delete entries. Only invite people you trust. You can remove members in-app.
5. Your content
You own the data you create in the App (logs, notes, photos). By using the App, you grant us the limited right to store and process this data solely to deliver the service to you. We don't use your content for anything else.
6. Not medical advice
Samio is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. The App is a tracking tool only. Do not rely on it for diagnosing, treating, or making medical decisions about your child. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical concerns.
7. Availability
We work hard to keep the App running, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance, outages, or other interruptions may occur. The App is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis.
8. Limitation of liability
Samio is currently provided free of charge as a personal project by an individual developer. Since you do not pay for the Service, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim relating to the App is limited to the amount you have paid us, which is zero SEK.
To the fullest extent permitted by Swedish law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including loss of data, lost opportunities, or decisions made based on data logged in the App.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory law (e.g. liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence).
9. Your data — export and deletion
You can download a complete copy of your data at any time via Settings → Account & sharing → Export my data (returns a JSON file).
You can delete your account at any time via Settings → Account & sharing → Delete account. This erases your account, your baby's profile, all logs, and all photos. See the Privacy Policy for details on retention and backups.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or use the App to harm others.
10. Changes to the App and Terms
We may change the App and these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email at least 14 days before taking effect. Continuing to use the App after changes means you accept them.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden. Disputes are resolved in Swedish courts, unless mandatory consumer law entitles you to bring proceedings in your home country.
